Easement Update & Resources
This post is intended to help residents locate easement- related documents using publicly available records.
In December of 2025, MSD published (on the Accela Citizen Database) easement plats with comments and corrections for Clayton Engineering Company. The board provided an update at the most recent meeting in March, explaining that nothing will be sent out to residents to sign until confirmed official documents are in hand. Residents had also previously been invited to attend a Town Hall that included legal counsel from MSD.
Easement documents available in the system reflect the current stage of the process. I have included a copy of what they look like. See the expected corrections in red.
If you are a resident who would like to view your easement there is a resource available to you through Metropolitan Sewer District.
The Accela Citizen Access Portalis MSD’s platform for tracking projects and correspondence. It is all public domain, and this is updated by MSD directly. This is a great tool to familiarize yourself with now, before the storm sewer repair project planned for Bellerive Acres begins.

Below you see the Bellerive Acres Base Map. This is an overview of where the sanitary and storm sewers run. Where those lines enter private property is where MSD is requesting easements.
MSD BASEMAP
MSD is requesting these easements as part of a common sewer transfer process.
MSD has provided an Improvement Plan that must be completed before the transfer. Most of the improvements on the plan are to right of way areas throughout the neighborhood.
The city has made the Improvement Plan available on the official Bellerive Acres website. See that here. Since it’s a long document, I am just including the cover page below. For those interested in viewing it further I suggest the link to the city’s post or refer to the exact project names in MSD’s Citizen Access portal:
Bellerive Acres Storm Sewer Repair project is “22MSD-00490”.
Find the Improvement Plan under “Attachments” listed as "22MSD-00490DRARPLANS".
The top left corner of the cover page has a key and you can use the abbreviations to learn what is planned for your side of the street.
After the easements are finalized, Bellerive Acres will be able to move the the next step, securing a contractor to complete the MSD improvement plan. The city does this by publishing a Request for Proposal (RFP) and inviting companies to bid for the project. The city has made the previous RFP for this project available to view- read it here.
